Welcome to my email list! I’ve had it with social media. I’m trying this mailing list to see if you folks would like a more personal way of communicating with me in a more…uh…sane way.
Over the 40+ years that I’ve enjoyed working as a science journalist, lots of things roll around in my head. Lots of people stop by to say hello. And I don’t have the time to talk with everyone as much as I’d like to about stuff that’s on my mind. Science and politics. Orchids and gardening (couple of my passions). My growing interest in green energy and climate change and what we can do about it. My Tesla Model 3 and electrification of the country. Just to name a few things..
Lots of what I’m thinking about fall into The Joy of Knowing category. I simply want to know how things work. I’m astounded that we don’t know what 96% of the universe is made of!
So I’d like to start this letter simply with a YouTube video by one of my favorite physicists, Richard Feynman. He shared that same desire to know, but was also happy not to know. He famously said that it’s better to not know, than to think you know…and be wrong.
Here’s a link to that video. And I hope you’ll subscribe to this mailing list and keep this conversation going.
Thanks.
And enjoy!
